Featured on the front page of Reddit and countless feature pages, this photo took 12 hours to shoot. With no posted schedules for these freight trains, I had to position wait in my vehicle patiently, listen carefully, and sit and listen for the rumblings of the train in the distance. Literally waiting to FEEL the train coming, I would rush down the road to set up the tripod, and try to catch it in the perfect conditions. It took 6 attempts before I was able to create this with good lighting and the mountains slightly visible. In the end, I was able to create one of the best photos I’ve ever created. This piece is perfect for any western Canadian wanting to highlight the majesty of our beautiful Rocky Mountains.
